Genre
Genere is a way for the industry to Market films and categorize them, and give the audience choices to choose from, It means type.
Types of Genre are Action, Horror, Thriller and Sci Fi, some genres are not considered to be genres as a whole but rather sub-genres, they are Comedy Drama and Romance.
Generic  conventions are is recognisable, they are a way of engaging audience.
Some media texts are hybrid genres, this means they share the conventions of more than 1 genre. Example of a hybrid are the Twilight films, it combines Horror, Teen, Fantasy and Romance.
A Cross-genre, also called Cross-over, is a genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from 2 or more different genres.
Iconography is the images and Audio audience expect to see in a particular genre, Like an iconography of Horror will be creaking sound, Screaming, Loud pitch sounds, Dark lighting, abandoned houses and others. But with a sub-version you can create something like a surprise, an unexpected event or situation that the audience wont expect to see in horror
